The Manual of Style is a page written to help you, the editor, put together an article that is as consistent as possible with other articles and still maintain a high level of readability and quality.

Subpage Navigation

{{SubpageNavigation}} is a very simple yet important template.

It is placed at the very first line of the page and helps readers visit the gallery or audio subpages with two or three big purple buttons (no exaggeration there!).

Notices

If appropriate, the page should have one or more notices.

Here is a complete list of notices and their usage:

  • {{Update}}, placed on an article page if some, most, or all of the information is outdated.
  • {{Stub}}, placed on an article page if it is too short or lacks detail.
  • {{Speculation}}, placed on an article page if it contains speculative information.
  • {{Cleanup}}, placed on a page if it is messy past the point of readability.
  • {{Conjecture}}, placed on an article page if the article's name is conjectural.
  • {{Delete}}, placed on a page if it is unnecessary.
  • {{Needcontent}}, placed on a page if the article or subpage is missing needed content (such as information on certain things, photos, or sounds).
  • {{Move}}, placed on a page if it should be renamed.
  • {{Picture}}, placed on a page if it requires an image.
  • {{Upcoming Content}}, placed on a page if it details a future concept with not all details revealed.

Quotes

When possible, there should always be a quote at the beginning of the article.

This quote can be a describing quote from one of the Abandoned by Disney stories, or perhaps a quote said by the character themselves.

This would be done in the following format using the {{Quote}} template:

{{Quote|quote would go here|source, with citation if possible}}

Custom TOC

For longer articles or just for convenience in general it may be more useful to place the {{TOC}} template, a table of contents that scrolls with the page.

If you want to see what this template looks like, just glance at the right of the screen.

Infoboxes

Infoboxes are templates that should only be used for articles about characters and settings.

Infoboxes can be written by everyone using the usage

  • Each infobox should be consistent in design and a picture should be supplied if available.
    • Should no image be available, simply leave the image field blank.

Descriptions

Describing a character

When describing a character, it should be done with the initial paragraph giving a short background of the character before moving on to specifics.

The basic structure would simply be:

(opening paragraph)
==Description==
===Appearance===
(paragraph describing appearance)
===Behavior===
(paragraph describing general in-game behavior)
===Locations===
(paragraph describing settings passed in gameplay)
==Bugs==
(bulleted list of in-game glitches or modeling errors)
==Trivia==
(bulleted list of relevant uncommon knowledge)

Describing a setting

When describing a setting, there should be 1-2 opening paragraphs giving a general description of the setting and a bugs and/or trivia section.

The basic structure would be:

(opening 1-2 paragraphs)
==Bugs==
(bulleted list of in-game glitches or modeling errors)
==Trivia==
(bulleted list of relevant uncommon knowledge)

Images

Readers like to see a visual representation of an article. As such, there should be at least 1-3 images per article.

Any other relevant images should go into the Gallery subpage.

Footer

At the very end of the article, there should be a navigation template for the game the article's subject comes from.

Like infoboxes, footers must be consistent in design.

Subpages

Pages should have a Gallery and/or Audio subpage.

  • If photos exist for the character, setting, or mechanic, the photos would go into the Gallery subpage;
  • If sounds exist for the character, setting, or mechanic, the sounds would go into the Audio subpage.

Subpages are created very simply; just go to Special:CreatePage and type the exact page name, followed by "/Gallery" or "/Audio" appropriately.

Categories

Each page should be categorized like so, alphabetized if possible.

(game name), (type of subject), (then other categories)
